Photography competition entry April 2013.

The brief of the competition was ‘derelict places’.

There is a group of derelict farm buildings not far from where I live, I was always intrigued by these abandoned buildings as a child, so I immediately knew where I was going to go when I saw the brief.

I waited for the right light, a sunny evening when the shadows were lengthening, and captured a range of shots.
I chose this shot with one of the buildings in the background, it was clear that the focus of the site was changing, with the red brick buildings fading into the background, their edges continually softened by the return of the foliage.
